Today on the Bob & Tom Show...
Today on the Bob and Tom Show the gang welcomed Dr. Will Miller, Scott Dunn, and Tom Brokaw. Dr. Will Miller joined the program for close to three hours this morning and discussed comedy and psychology. Dr. Miller has a new book out called Refrigerator Rights, examining human interaction in today’s society. Along with the serious stuff, Dr. Miller is a very talented comedian, spending nearly 20 years in the business. Every Monday Scott Dunn stops by to give the gang a history lesson. Today Scott focused on the history of political mud slinging. Surprise surprise, it turns out this political tactic isn’t new. In fact, in dates back to the formation of this country, it’s as American as apple pie. Lastly, the legendary broadcaster Tom Brokaw joined the show to promote his new book, Boom!: Voices of the Sixties. His latest work discusses the importance of the sixties and how influential that decade was on all future decades. Brokaw had some great stories of his career and of the broadcast news industry, especially the changes that have occurred during his reign. Tune in tomorrow for the one and only Bob Zany.

Today on the Bob and Tom Show the gang welcomed comedians Eric Blake and John Roy. Eric Blake is an upstart comedian and joined the show early this morning. Eric has been seen on HBO’s War on Comedy, profiling up and coming comedians. The talent is obviously there as Eric had great jokes about topical events, quirky family members, and his upbringing. Eric most certainly will be back in the near future and will be much more famous. John Roy, a former Star Search winner, also joined the program and was very funny. Much of John’s humor was very personal as he talked a lot about his hair cut. John has a completely shaved head and claims neo-Nazis have approached him thinking he was one of them. In fact, John is very outspoken against that particular organization so the stories of the meetings were obviously awkward and very funny. John also has an interesting background as his dad was a Jesuit and his mom was a psycho-therapist. This, obviously, led to a strange upbringing but luckily has fueled a comedy career for many years. With parents like that comedy was destiny. Tune in tomorrow for the Best of the Bob and Tom Show.

Today on the Bob and Tom Show the gang welcomed Rich Vos, Joe Starr, Heywood Banks, and Dave Mason. Rich Vos, former Last Comic Standing contestant, stopped by this morning and proved why many consider him one of the best young comedians in the country. It’s hard to describe Rich’s style of comedy, he was most certainly funny but to use one word is difficult. Rich has a slightly gritty delivery most likely from being born and raised in Brooklyn. Vos is very accomplished for his age appearing on Comedy Central numerous times and becoming the first White comedian to perform on Def Comedy Jam. Joe Starr also joined the program and Joe can be described as an old style or throwback comedian. He prides himself on a certain ode to comedians of old and it pays off because the talent is obvious to any viewer. The great Heywood Banks dropped by and performed some new and classic songs for the gang. Heywood is considered one of the great comedy songwriters of all-time and today he did some Halloween songs, two new songs, and a variation of his classic Toast. Heywood is certainly unique but having him around is a whole lot of fun. Lastly, singer-songwriter Dave Mason came by to promote his new album 26 Letters-12 Notes. In recent years, Dave has become one of the more under rated musicians in the music industry but don’t be fooled at one time Dave was a premiere singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Mason racked up mega-hits with Feelin Alright, We Just Disagree, and Only You Know I Know. He performed a couple new songs and Feelin Alright and We Just Disagree. Dave still sounds just as good as he did when he was performing with Jimi Hendrix in the late 60’s and Eric Clapton in the 70’s. Its always really fun to hear the great musicians of rock n’ roll perform live but its just as fun to hear them talk about their music and careers. Tune in tomorrow for Eric Blake and John Roy.
